Vizayas Mindanao Tour 2007

Iloilo to Bacolod (april 26)
=) the Viz-Min tour begins!!!
=) Roxas Dangay port waiting for the barko to Caticlan.
=) road trip from Caticlan all the way to Iloilo. i must say, the worst kalsada i've ever seen on Panay island was at Capiz. Well, hindi nakakapagtaka, they say ├╝ber corrupt ang mga officials dito. Rocky road anyone? For free only at Capiz!
=) Ilo-ilo: met up with tristan, my co-intern from Ilo-ilo Doctor's College, while waiting for our barko to Bacolod.
=) ate chicken inasal when we got to Bacolod (merienda time)
=) had a little tour, a good 1 hour only, just to see the Bayan, the old church...

Dapitan to Dakak (april 27)
=) just slept throughout the ship's three hour trip from Dumaguete to Dapitan (tama ba, sa Dumaguete nga ba kami galing?)

=) rizal monument, the church, then to Dakak (wala sa itinerary, napasama lang)

=) Dakak: tahimik, simple. The best part is the cove!!! Ang ganda talaga. Swerte nakadiskubre neto! Hehe.

=) we didn't enjoy the water kasi hindi nga kasama sa plano eto. pwede naman kami magswim pero mauubos oras namin, magsasala sa timeframe ng itinerary kaya tamang kodakan na lang!

Cagayan de Oro to Bukidnon (april 28)

=) Malasag Gardens
=) Pryce Hotel. Tamang site seeing lang.

=) Transfiguration Church in Bukidnon. I missed the coffee. We weren't able to buy sako sakong kape made by the monks. That was my plan of pasalubong pa naman. One sack of coffee, then i'll repack it to give to my friends. Sayang.

Davao City (april 29)

=) attended the early morning mass wherein i didn't understand a single word (local dialect). still i prayed for a safe travel.

=) Had our lunch at Paradise Island. Enjoyed the seafoods and tinola. Nakakagulat yung price ng menu nila, not because it's very expensive but because it's very affordable. Imagine, 6 kami, we ordered seafoods platter, tinola, chopseuy, and rice (all in large servings, good for sharing) and our bill was 800+ lang. Hmm... yummy...

Davao del Sur to Gen San (april 30)

=) road trip from davao to gensan. had an overlooking view of the most of davao territory at a roadside cafeteria where we had breakfast.

=) daan sa bahay ni Manny Pacquiao. We were lucky enough to be allowed to enter the gate since nagpakilala si Lolo Bidal as former mayor of Salakit, Kiamba.

=) visited the saranggani municipal office to say hi to some of Papa's relatives.

=) finally, i got to play the role of Papa's driver substitute! napagod din. At least i exprienced driving in a different road, hindi laging Calapan na lang! Hindi siya Manila city driving na matatawag since asa province pa rin kami nito, pero ok na rin.

Camiguin Island (may 2)

=) i call this the mystery island. nababalot ng misteryo.

=) we rented a house for one night. and also a multicab to pasyal us around the island (we left our car sa kabilang pier).

=) enjoyed posing...

Iligan (may 4)

=) still not included in our itinerary pero sabi ni Papa, lumaki sya sa Mindanao na hindi napupuntahan ang Ma Cristina Falls. And who knows baka hindi na rin naman mabalikan yun so dinaanan na rin namin.

=) super daming monkeys. but unlike sa zoo, hindi sila nakakulong, malaya sila to roam around the area, sa trees. hindi sila takot magpakita sa mga tourists, at humihingi pa sila ng food. haha!

Boracay Island (may 5)

=) last night was a very unfortunate night. i wasn't able to go out with Ate Paulineth for Boracay night-life since I was nursing a migraine attack simula pa nung umalis kami kahapon from the Dionela's mansion.

=) speaking of Dionela's mansion, we had dinner at Pandan courtesy of Lance's Mom and Lola. Short stay lang since we have to catch the last trip of bangka from Caticlan to Bora. Met Chelsea and Bingo (Lance's labradors) and the other dogs. Fun!

=) last stop in our 2-week-long travel around Vizayas & Mindanao...

Til next tripping. Adios!
